Craft Maker Series for Knitters

The Craft Maker Series for Knitters is a toolkit of journals and planners for knitters to organize projects, design, and build their own knitting archive. More series for other crafts and creative breaks are on the way.

Why 4:5?

Knitted stitches are slightly wider than they are tall. Standard square (1:1) graph paper can distort designs, so motifs look stretched once knitted.

All Craft Granny knitting books use a 4:5 ratio grid, which reflects the natural proportions of a knitted stitch and makes charts match the fabric more closely.

A square 1:1 grid cell crossed out next to a 4:5 grid cell: knitting charts use 4:5
